God Wills It! Sports & The Kingdom of Heaven

New St. Andrews boasts a neat Rugby team:

The NSA-student organized St. Andy’s Rugby Football Club (RFC) and its success in regional play last year gained national attention in the American Rugby News this week. The story appearing in ARN reported on the club’s record and its move into the Pacific Northwest Division II this fall.

Well, this is good clean academic fun. Right? Well, No. I’m sorry, but the Kirk Empire is the result of cultural subversion that is simply not of either the New Testament or American Tradition kind. It is more like kinism or the preparation of Nazi Germany than a recapturing of a European “classical education.” They can’t even do something as simple as college sports without arrogantly spouting their perverted ideology and spiking the adrenaline with war drums. This New St. Andrews’ Rugby team sends out a Newsletter. In the Spring 2006 issue, Larson Hicks, President of St. Andy’s Rugby team writes:

In a day and age where true biblical masculinity is hard to come by, you’d think that finding a group of men who work, train, exercise, play, hit, tackle, and go to war together all in the name of Christ and for His glory would be difficult. But all a Moscovite would have to do is show up at the practice field next to the Kibbie Dome on Monday and Thursday nights and he’d witness this very thing…So why here, why now? Why am I lecturing on these lofty ideals in a rugby newsletter? ….I can speak on behalf of this entire club in saying that the future of the church, through the training up of our next generation of leaders, is at the center of our mission. In a time and culture where God’s kingdom [God wills it!] finds itself embroiled in true warfare all over the world, someone needs to be training the troops.

By the way: please remove your libelous claim “but he blocks all comments on his blog.” That is clearly an intentionally dishonest way of refering to the simple fact that I don’t have comments. I used to; it was in my favor to given the intelligence and character of my opponent; and when I ceased comments I explained why at length (and have had to repeat myself more than once). I “block all comments” the same way Peter Leithart “blocks all comments” on his blog. Check it out: http://www.leithart.com

Given this libelous statement right out the gate, I take it that you are a Wilson defender.
